Appearance:
Jin is of average height, standing around 5'11" and weighing a simple 150. He has long dark brown hair that he lets fall freely around him. He hardly ever bothers to tie it up. His eyes are a shining emerald green that would put any gem to shame. His skin is of a light complexion, but there are traces of a slight tan. On his back are tattoos of intricate cherry blossoms. The clothes that he wears are simplistic and functional. His earthen brown pants fit evenly around his waist and hug his legs the way down to his dark brown leather boots. Around his left shoulder begins a green cloak that drifts loosely down the side of his body and flairs out into a sapphire blue cloak-end. The right portion of his body beginning at his shoulder and going to his waist is bare, allowing the intricate tattoo work to be shown. On each arm starting at the forearm and extending to the middle of the opisthenar (portion of had opposite the palm). Around his right bicep Jin has a red ribbon tied and attached to the red ribbon is an extremely old broach in the shape of a leaf. Jin always carries with him a Wagasa (Old wood parasol).
Attached to a string at his waist is a small clay jug with a cap that also doubles as a clay cup.
Personality:
Jin is most likely where the relations between personality and elements were first derived. Jin is much like water. He can be calm and serene. He is extremely patient. He is slow to boil with any emotion. When provoked he is as unyielding and unending as waves that would crash upon his foes. Jin love the world and nature. He would rather see the life flourish and the mechanical creations be left to rust. When it comes to social life, Jin is always wearing a small smile of some sort, he loves women and drink but all in moderation. Except perhaps the women. Jin has a different perception of reality which causes him to make connections between things that usually would not exist. Occasionally people find Jin aloof and out there but that is because they can see the
world the way Jin does. Jin's features may be youthful but his eyes show sadness, joy, and wisdom that would usually only come with the passing of multiple lifetimes. The green leaf brooch that Jin carries on his arm is extremely important to him. He always seems to take special care to make sure its clean and undamaged. When asked why he takes such care of it he replies "Beatitas Luna". When the world is still and pure silence fills the air some could swear that they can hear the brooch whisper.
Elements:
Jin sees the world differently from how others see the world. He has made the connection between the elements and how to control their absence. When looking up at a night sky he sees not the formations of the stars but the shapes made in between. Jin had fooled around with magic for quite some time but he never focused upon it until he stumbled across the green leaf brooch. After that he began to dedicate himself to three elements. Light, the element he was created with. Earth, the element he wished to protect. And Water, the element he mastered because he could see what no one else saw. From practicing light he controlled not the light itself but the emptiness where it wasn't. By understanding that Light was just Darkness waiting to exist and Darkness was just the readiness of Light he was able to control both by using one because one can't exist without the other. They are always present. With Earth he saw what is and what could be. All things from the Earth are made of virtually the same thing. If Jin rubbed his hands vigorously it would create heat, if he rubbed sticks on each other they would create Fire. Earth was just the waiting existence of Fire. By knowing how to use Earth, Jin could use Fire. Water was a completely different story for Jin however. Jin saw Water as the true meaning of life. Aqua Vita, the water of life. Water was everything. Water was the air we breathed, water was the rocks, the dirt, the sky, the fuel for fire, the prism for light, and the creator of shadows. Water wasn't just a fluid, water was an ever moving stream. Always moving forward and never retreating. Water was unending, unyielding, and completely unforgiving. Water was the true essence of time. Time always moves forward. Never retreats back. Time is unending. Time is unyielding. And Time is most definitely and completely unforgiving. Like water, time was life. No one could ever tame the sea and similarly no one could every control time. But Jin sees it differently. He would never bend or control anything to his will. No one could ever be as great as the man who only had to ask. And Jin has begun to understand how to ask for time.
(In regards to the first stage of development on this board, the list of elements will decend in order of strength and mastery with a number of one through twenty to dictate his level of control over the element or it sub-elemental use. Powers and Abilities:
Non Magical Abilities
- Third Eye: Jin sees the world differently from the rest. He makes connections where others might fail to understand. This has allowed him to see the true nature of things. As such he is not affected by time or fooled by illusions.
- Forgotten Style: Jin has the knowledge and abilities to fight with weapons in a fighting style that seems to incorporate moves that kill magic and magical beings. This fighting style is completely new to the reborn world but feels ancient. No one knows how Jin came across this fighting style or who taught it to him. Though when asked he gazes off into the sky and taps his fingernails on the surface of his brooch and states airly "Only the Moon could teach such secrets."
- Aspect of Felix Moon: In extreme life or death situations Jin can call upon the power of the Leaf Brooch that harbors the lost soul of Felix Moon, God Slayer. When Jin calls upon the powers, his body and soul become locked inside the brooch and are exchanged for Felix's. Felix then walks the earth for a short period of time removing any and all threats that were out to harm Jin.
Profile for Felix Moon will be added in a couple days at the end of this profile for clarification on what he can do.[/b]
Magical Abilities:
(Herein is a list of specific magical abilities that give a GENERAL determination of his power with the individual elements. While only two or three powers may be listed for an element, those are to give an idea of what he might do with the element and to give a good indication of the amount of power that he could wield with that element. The powers listed are not a list of the only things that can be done with the element.)
Water: Jin has complete understanding of water and is fully capable of doing anything he sets his mind to with the element. Some signature powers he uses are:
- Aqua Vita: Water brings life and healing. Jin can use his understanding of water to heal grievous wounds, restore energy, and replenish strength. Jin even further enhance healing, energy, strength, and speed by manipulating the flow of water in the body.
- Aqua Mortem: If Water brings life, it can most certainly take it away. Jin can pull water out of the body, destroying affected areas. While Jin refers to it as Aqua Mortem, the few enemies that Jin may have and are still around to speak refer to it as Horrid Wilting.
- Aqua Ex: Jin is from water and so he could always return if so wished. Jin can embody water and become it completely.
---Sub Water: Time
- Temporis Momentum: Everyone is in the stream of time but Jin has learned how to stop his movement and allow time to flow around him. The first step on Jin's journey to understand time is this power. Jin can project a small area around him where time will cease to move. While rudimentary at best it has allowed Jin to live a lot longer that the age he appears to be. Like any obstruction in a moving stream there is always continual force against the obstruction and as such, the bubble is difficult to maintain.
---Sub Water: Wind from Water
- Aqua Fio Ventus: Jin can harness small amounts of wind by changing the nature of water.
Earth: Jin knows the potential that there is for the complete understanding of earth and he treats that knowledge with respect. He knows that he is far from unveiling the secrets that the earth has to share but he is content with what he has learned so far.
- Terra Contego: Jin can ask the earth to protect him in times of need. The very ground itself will rise up and intercept attacks directed at Jin.
---Sub Earth: Fire from Earth
- Terra Fio Incendia: Jin can harness small amounts of fire by changing the nature of earth.
Light: Because it was the element Jin was born with Jin has paid little attention to Light. He understands its function but has yet to begin to truly study it.
- Caecus Lux lucis: Jin can release a sudden burst of blinding radiant light that has potential to daze and stun his enemies or allow his to slip away while those around him try to recover their vision.
--- Sub Light: Darkness from Light
- Lux Fio Atrum: Jin can harness miniscule amounts of darkness by changing the nature of light.
History:
Jin awoke with a start, breathing heavily and his eyes darted around rapidly. "Who am I?... No... Where am I?" He thought to himself. Try as hard as he may he could not bring back even a single memory. Calming himself, he stood up and brushed himself off and looked around. He appeared to be in some stone cavern faintly lit by glowing moss that glinted with moisture and occasionally let drop a single bead of water that would make an echoing dripping sound. "No use staying here." He muttered to himself.
His voice caught him off guard. With no memory he didn't even remember what his voice had sounded like or even what he looked like. But somehow in the back of his mind, his voice did bring him comfort and only just a brief touch of nostalgia.
The caves seemed to go on forever, one tunnel would lead to the next and each one looked the same. After a while however, he began to hear a faint noise echoing throughout the caverns. Trying his best, he began to follow the noise. Eventually he came upon a waterfall that fed into a naturally created basin that was deep in the center and gradually became more shallow as it reached the perimeter.
Jin rushed forward and looked in the water. Eager to get a glimpse of what he looked like. What stared back at him from the water was like seeing someone in reality that you had only ever seen in a dream. Completely familiar but utterly alien at the same time. But it just seemed to... fit. There was no disappointment or elation, just a calm and unquestionable acceptance that that was how he did and always should look.
Jin sighed and leaned against the side of the basin and looked up trying to see where the waterfall began to find a way out of this cave. Seeing only as far as the moss light would let him, he was unable to distinguish any discernible exit. Slumping down against the side of the stone wall he leaned his head forward and rested it in his hands. He closed his eyes and tried to think. Distracted with the uncertainties of who he was, where he was, and why he couldn't remember anything troubled him and he soon grew restless.
Looking over at the waterfall he spoke to himself, "I wish I understood."
A few minutes later he stood back up, ready to wander again in hopes of finding an exit. As he began to head out, something caught the corner of his eye. Turning around to face it directly, he saw a shimmer of green in the water from the waterfall. Moving forward he looked into the water and saw what appeared to be a green emerald in the shape of a leaf.
"That wasn't there before....I am sure of it...Did I really overlook that?". Jin set aside the thought for later contemplation and reached into the water and grasped the leaf. As soon as he touched it he heard a faint whisper "You are Jin."
Jin stumbled back in suprise and looked around frantically looking for the source of the voice. Seeing nothing he looked back at the leaf in his hand. Something about the leaf was so familiar but just out of reach. Studying it even closer the leaf gave off a faint glow and again he heard "You are Jin."
This time the name struck home. A flood of recollection of voices saying his name flooded into his mind. None of the voices that said his name were familiar but Jin just felt.... right.
Jin looked at the leaf, "What are you?"
"I am understanding. I am knowledge."
Jin's heart jumped in his chest, he wasn't expecting a reply. A reply from a gem? Thats just absurd....
The voice spoke again however, "When you are ready to learn, I will teach. For now, you must leave."
A pressure began to press around Jin's mind and an image began to form. It was the layout of the caverns. He could now clearly see how to leave. Following the map in his head he found the exit and stepped outside. In front of him was a lush green forest and behind him loomed a giant mountian.
As Jin walked through the forest he felt peace and belonging. The still pools of water that nestled in between grassy banks shaded by trees all felt right.
Eventually Jin came upon a large clear pond shaded by overhanging cherry blossom trees. The blossoms of the tree were still buds but the place was beautiful.
"I would love to see this when the trees have blossomed." He said to himself in wonder.
In the back of his mind he heard another whisper, "Then stay here and wait for them to do so."
Jin looked at the leaf for a moment then knelt down and sat in front of the pool and began to wait. Jin waited for many day that turned into months. During that time he continued to receive whispers of wisdom from the leaf, and Jin's thoughts turned back to the statement "I am understanding. I am knowledge, when you are ready to learn, I will teach."
Jin awoke to the dew dripping off of his clothes onto the grass and he looked out at the branches of the cherry blossom tree. A smile splayed across his face as he gazed upon a single bud opening slowly to the morning sun. And in turn the buds began to open one by one after that until the grove was a display of blossoms dotting the air and resting upon the still surface of the pond. Smiling and feeling serenity he spoke "I would like to learn."
A single cherry blossom began to fall from the tree slowly, and then it stopped right before it touched the water. Looking around him, everything was still. Not a sound was made or even a slightest movement.
"You are ready to learn, now I will teach." said the voice.
For many years Jin was told and taught by the voice in that unmoving and still grove. Nothing changed and nothing moved for many, many years. The voice imparted knowledge and wisdom about who Jin was, about what Jin was, and about the potential Jin had. Jin was taught about the elements and how to work with them to accomplish things. The voice also showed Jin how to look at things for what they could be, not just what they were. Jin was taught how to fight, read, and write.
During all this time the focus was always on the element of water, which the voice would always state, "Water is everything. Learn to ask and you have everything you'll ever need to be great."
Finally after uncountable days Jin awoke again and looked out to the pond his gaze directed towards the blossom that had been stopped just above the water. As he looked at it, it began to move and slowly feathered into the water creating small ripples. Sounds began to rush all around him as the wind gently moved through the forest and the leaves and trees slowly rustled.
The voice spoke once more "You now understand."
To which Jin replied, "Completely."
The voice spoke again, "Everything else you must learn on your own. A journey can only impart wisdom if you undertake it yourself. Your journey has begun as mine has now ended. I have given you the tools that you will need to use to grow and better yourself. I will only now leave you with this, protect what you love, preserve it and make sure its remembered. It it a terrible thing to forget that which was important. Please, never forget me. To you I am a voice, I am knowledge and wisdom. I am a memory long since sacrificed for the good of others that I will never see. Except perhaps yourself. Remember me and let nothing be done in vain...."
Jin nodded silently with very little understanding about what the voice was saying but he accepted it as truth non the less. Simply he asked "How shall I remember you?"
Faintly the voice replied with a name that trailed away into complete silence, "Beatitas Luna....."
With the name and a journey ahead of him he closed his eyes and felt around the earth. The trees had aged since he first knelt at the grove. Probing deeper he found that the trees outside the grove had aged three days. His curiosity piqued he brought his attention to the trees within the grove. They had aged six hundred years. While this should have surprised Jin he found himself calmly accepting the passage of the time. Looking back into the pond his reflection showed no signs of aging. With a shrug he stood up and walked away from the grove and it the darkening forest. Looking back for a moment he glanced up at the sky. The stars were beginning to shine but he found himself drawn to the spaces in between. Smiling he looked back at the moon and spoke softly "Beatitas Luna." Then walked off and out of site as the last rays of light cast their gentle glow across the grove and plunged it into darkness.
